About me
Hi, Iām Laurie Wood, a health coach. My path to this fulfilling career has included many diverse experiences. I spent years managing and developing employees, then felt a calling to be a teacher and have been an educator for 15 years. I am a mom to a young adult and a daughter to a once vivacious mother that has lost her personality to dementia. Seeing my mom and other loved ones struggle with health challenges over the years motivated me to dedicate my time and efforts learning how to live a long, vibrant and healthy life.
I am passionate about nutrition and how it plays a pivotal role in fostering vitality and resilience. Understanding the mind-body connection has influenced my personal health and wellness, knowing that our mental health significantly impacts our physical condition, and vice versa. I embrace practices that include both physical activity and mindfulness knowing they can be instrumental in enhancing overall health and well-being.
Becoming a health coach was a natural evolution for me, driven by my desire to help others on their wellness journeys. True wellness is about recognizing that each aspect of our health is interconnected. I love helping others navigate changes in their behaviors that create more balance in their lives and ultimately help them feel better.
I am here to support and guide you every step of the way as we embark on this transformative journey towards optimal health.
As a Coach, the client should understand that I am not acting in the capacity of a doctor, psychologist, personal trainer or nutritionist. My role is to help people improve their well-being through sustainable lifestyle changes. I hold a Health Coach Certification and have completed over 30 hours of Functional Nutrition Training from the Mindbodygreen Institute.
